A tall stone with a round top flanked by two smaller rounds, the inscription now hard to read in decorative gothic script:
In memory of Edward GOWER, Senr, late of this parish, who died 4th July 1801 aged 68 years. Also Elizabeth his wife, who died 18th July 1794 aged 65 years. John their son died 15th June 1767 aged 4 years. Their surviving issue: Edward, Elizabeth, Mary and Ann. As also John, his son (by Elizabeth his second wife, whom he left surviving), who died in his infancy. Likewise near this place are buried in one grave the Father and Mother of the said Edward Gower, who died nearly at the same time. Also their sons George, John, Robert and his wife.
Haslewood p15. Registers record infant John buried 1798, Mary and George GOWER both 1751; George 1765, John 1787, Robert 1784 (also Sarah 1786 and Sarah 1788)
