In Memory of
my dearly beloved husband
of the Order of the Bath
born December 20th 1853
died October 16th 1946
He leaves a white unbroken glory
a gathered radiance, a wealth
a shining peace under the night
And of his wife
who died April 24th 1962
'The years had given them kindness'
The quotation is of the final lines of Rupert Brookes' poem 'The Dead' (poem IV), though Brookes wrote 'width' not 'wealth'.
