Tall stone, the top given a ribbon, below that a scene visible in the right light, described by Haslewood [Memorials of Smarden p144]: Incised in the head of the stone are the Good Samaritan, pouring oil into the wounded arm of the traveller, also the Priest and Levite passing by. The beast is also represented.
In memory of Thos COVENEY of this parish, yeo: who died April 4 1770 aged 51 years. Also Hannah his wife died Jany 8 1780 aged 54 years. Left issue Thos and Joseph.
